Alain Bonnefoit

Alain Bonnefoit was born in Paris in 1937 and has divided his work as a painter between 'his' Paris and 'his' Tuscany, his adopted home. It is here that he has painted his landscapes, while in the Orient he has learnt to love the incredible local techniques, in particular the Japanese 'Sumie', becoming the absolute master of this technique in the western world. He loves graphic arts, etchings, aquatints and lithographs. His work reaches infinite beauty in his 'Nudes': caste, mellow female nudes carried out in lithographs and oil and watercolour engravings. Bonnefoit has become a sought-after and renowned artist and has exhibited his works in numerous countries like Switzerland, France, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Luxembourg, the United States and Japan. He has also illustrated several books by famous authors and important publishers with his engravings and lithographs
