Primo Conti
Undoubledly one of the leading artistic exponents of our century: sculptor,
painter, engraver and poet, he was bornin Florence in 1900, and expresses the
experiences and the torments of the artistic movements of the twentieth century.
From Fauvism to the Futurism of the years between 1914-15 and the war, through
Metaphysics and the revival of the figurative, Conti was dramatically influenced
by the Second World War. The re-elaborations of the years which followed led to
'the unconscious, the oneiric, the communion with the very essence of life'.
He died in Florence in 1988.
